Under article 4.2, paragraph (e) of the Staff Regulations, the filling of vacancies in technical cooperation projects does not fall under Annex I of the Staff Regulations and is made by direct selection by the Director-General.

Technical cooperation appointments are not expected to lead to a career in the ILO and they do not carry any expectation of renewal or conversion to any other type of appointment in the Organization. A one-year fixed-term contract will be given. Extensions of technical cooperation contracts are subject to various elements including the following: availability of funds, continuing need of the functions and satisfactory conduct and performance.

Introduction
Migrants Rights and Decent Work (MiRiDeW) – Phase II project seeks to facilitate, and support is strengthened laws, policies, practices and systems for safe labour migration and access to decent work for Nepali migrant workers. . The project focuses on the supporting the effective implementation of the labour migration framework and the alignment with international labour standards promoted to protect the rights of Nepali migrant workers, with a particular focus on women migrant workers, and strengthen the institutional capacity, accountability, and coordination of all three tiers of government, social partners and other stakeholders in the area of labour migration to ensure safe, orderly and regular migration.. For the purpose, the project will collaborate with number of key actors – government, civil societies and private sectors, with very close collaboration and engagement with the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. To achieve the specified goals, outcomes and outputs, the project will run until mid-2026. Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) of the Swiss Confederation through the Embassy of Switzerland in Nepal is financially supporting the project.
Reporting lines
Under the direct supervision of the Director of CO-Kathmandu , the NPC will be responsible for overall implementation of the project. He/she will work closely with the backstopping Sr. Programme Officer, work in close collaboration with other Sr. Programme Officers, Operations Officer and project team of CO-Kathmandu. He/she will coordinate with ILO Experts in Geneva, RO-Bangkok and Decent Work Team in New Delhi.
Description of Duties
Required qualifications
Education
University degree in economics, social sciences, law, or relevant field with demonstrated expertise in the relevant technical field.
Experience
At least three years of experience in project management, supervision, administration and implementation of grant/cooperative agreement requirements in the national level, with thematic emphasis on labour migration. Experience working with Government counterparts will be a significant advantage.
Technical requirements: Sound technical knowledge and experience on labour migration issues, good knowledge on national labour migration policies/laws, regional mechanisms.
Languages
Excellent command of English and Nepali languages, both written and spoken.
