National Federation of Women Living with HIV and AIDS (NFWLHA) announces vacancy for Communication and Documentation Officer.

National Federation of Women Living with HIV and AIDS (NFWLHA), formerly known as the Women’s Network against HIV & AIDS (WONAHA), was initially established as a loose network in 2006 and was legally registered in 2007 with a vision to create a just and equitable society environment.

NFWLHA works for the equal rights of women and children’s along with the Youth who are living with HIV. Our goal is to sustain empowerment and give the rights to children, Youth and Women in the society by creating a friendly environment.

Communication and Documentation Officer – 1 Position

Period: 11 months [Possibility of extension based on performance]
Location: Center Office, New baneshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal with frequent field visits

The Communication and Documentation Officer will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist Program Manager/Coordinator in developing communication strategy
  • Provide technical support to associate officers and related member organizations in preparing plans and prepare their long term (annual) and short term (quarterly and monthly) plans.
  • Communicate with advocacy and youth program officers and document the identified advocacy issues, research opportunities, allies and partnership possibilities that contribute to achieve NFWLHA’s goals and objectives, in consultation with Program Coordinator.
  • Coordinate with member organizations for planned as well as ad-hoc regional, provincial and district level different activities.
  • Assist to implement the developed monitoring system of program activities.
  • Collect information, analyze and circulate to Program Coordinator for further scrutinization and disseminate report based on the agreed/approved formats of NFWLHA.
  • Provide suggestions and feedback regarding program strategies and approaches to Program Coordinator and Program Manager.
  • Liaise, coordinate, build and nurture relationships with the senior and junior staffs, member organizations and beneficiaries to ensure implementation of advocacy, research, project and monitoring activities and their proper documentation.
  • Disseminate the information related to NFWLHA with government, non-government, donors and development agencies as well as receive information from them and report to program coordinator.
  • Represent NFWLHA in related functions of project related women and HIV issues as suggested

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in social science or mass communication or other relevant areas with 3 years of working experience in NGO, developing sectors will be highly desirable.

Experience and Skills:

  • At least 3 years of experience in women’s empowerment and gender equality.
  • Experience in public speaking and working with the desirable.
  • Ability to work with target groups; people living with HIV/AIDS and other key population (LGBTIQ, FSW, and PWID).
  • Strong negotiation and public relation skill
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe programs
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in Nepali and English.
  • Ability to type in Nepali Language.
  • Strong public relation capacity to networking and coordination with internal and external partners
  • Ability to negotiation and convincing skills
  • Sounds knowledge on using tools and techniques of communication.
