Job Description

As a Mechanical Supervisor you will be responsible in supervisory and administrative work of a technical nature involving overall supervision of the maintenance, repair and reconditioning of all types of vehicles; the direction, deployment and supervision of the activities of all operators of equipment and supervision of all warehouse or store staffs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on various types of equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule downtime for necessary repairs and maintenance activities.

Vehicle and Fleet Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of the company's fleet of vehicles.
  • Implement and manage a comprehensive fleet management system within the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) platform.
  • Monitor and optimise vehicle usage, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Fuel Consumption Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain accurate records of fuel consumption for all vehicles and equipment.
  • Generate regular fuel consumption reports and analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to optimise fuel efficiency and reduce overall consumption.

Record Keeping and Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed records of equipment and vehicle maintenance activities.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports to the supervisor, summarising key performance metrics and highlighting                any issues or concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate maintenance activities and minimise downtime.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and team members to ensure the timely availability of spare parts and resources.
Job Specification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with seven years of related experience. 
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or similar role in construction or infrastructure projects, preferably in road construction or transportation sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment installation, and maintenance practices.
