Job Description

SABAL Nepal is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting inclusive development, social justice, and empowerment of marginalized communities across Nepal. Working in close collaboration with local stakeholders, government agencies, and development partners, the organization implements programs focused on community development, governance, livelihoods, and social inclusion, with strong commitments to transparency, accountability, gender equality, and safeguarding.

Within this context, the Admin & Finance Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring efficient financial management and administrative operations of the organization. The position is responsible for overseeing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements, while strengthening internal control systems and supporting effective program implementation.

The role also contributes to organizational accountability and strategic decision-making by ensuring compliance with government regulations and audit standards, facilitating coordination across departments, and enhancing operational systems to support SABAL Nepal’s mission and growth.

Position: Admin Finance Manager -1

Qualification and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
    (Bachelor’s with 5+ years relevant experience may be considered)

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in finance and administration in NGO/INGO sector

  • Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and donor compliance

  • Experience in audits and reporting

  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software

  • Fluency in English and Nepali

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management

  • Lead budgeting, financial planning, and cash flow management

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare financial reports

  • Ensure timely reporting to donors and management

  • Monitor expenditures and coordinate audits

2. Administration & Logistics

  • Oversee office administration, procurement, and asset management

  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping

  • Manage logistics including travel and inventory

3. Compliance & Internal Control

  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and donor policies

  • Strengthen internal control systems and review contracts

  • Support risk management processes

4. HR & Coordination Support

  • Assist in payroll, contracts, and staff benefits

  • Coordinate with program teams for financial alignment

  • Provide financial guidance to staff and partners

5. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare financial statements and maintain audit-ready records

  • Assignment: Primarily office-based position responsible for financial management, reporting, budget monitoring, payroll, procurement compliance, inventory and logistics support, audit coordination, and administrative management, with regular coordination support to field teams (subject to program requirements).
