Finance Officer
Location: Kusunti, Lalitpur
Number of positions: 1
Employment Type: Full time (One year with the possibility of extension)
Salary: Negotiable
Organization: CREHPA, Nepal
Center for Research on Environment, Health and Population Activities (CREHPA) is not-for-profit research organization based at Lalitpur, Nepal. It is registered under Society’s Act 2034, Government of Nepal as a non -governmental organization (NGO). It is also registered with the Social Welfare Council (SWC), Nepal.
CREHPA is looking for a vibrant personality who desires to work as a Finance Officer. The Finance officer will be responsible for managing and successful implementation of financial activities as assigned by CREHPA.
As a Finance Officer, the major duties and responsibilities will be as follows:
Maintain filing system & record keeping of expenditure on the projects assigned;
Prepare financial report of different projects as per their requirement and monitor expenditure against the approved budgets;
Initiate, prepare and process travel requests of the staff;
Processing financial documentation, including orders, invoices and payment, manage cash receipts, disbursement and petty cash;
Responsible for entering accurate and up-to-date financial information and maintaining all financial records for projects and for the organization in compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies;
Prepare monthly financial reports, including Budget vs Expenditure and Fund Received vs Expenditure;
Investigate and resolve any client account discrepancies;
Preparation of annual Audit;
Assist the Finance Manager in processing of monthly payroll;
Daily posting the voucher in the software;
Process and reconcile bank deposits;
Prepare monthly tax work and complete tax filings;
Participate in capacity building training to enhance skills on finance and accounting;
Collaborate with project teams to build understanding of financial procedures and compliance;
Keep accurate records for all daily transactions;
Qualification, Skills & Experience:
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required
At least 2 years’ post qualification experience in finance/accounting roles (preferably in an NGO)
Knowledge of FAMAS software, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Email/internet
Should have sound knowledge of Nepalese Tax and Laws
Proper commanding with reporting requirements and capable of handling work pressure and meet the deadlines
Excellent report writing, analytical, and communication skills, including oral presentation skills, in Nepali and English
