Job Description
Digo Bikas Institute (DBI) is a research and advocacy organization focused on grassroots intervention and movement-building approach to address the crisis generated from profit- driven, unequal and exploitative economic and social structures. DBI promotes real solutions and alternatives based on the ideas and experience from communities at the forefront. DBI works on climate justice, debt justice, energy democracy, agroecology, rethinking development, urban justice through innovation in land use redesign.
Job Profile:
The role of “Research Coordinator” focuses on research activities at DBI. The Research Coordinator is responsible for leading the overall research in DBI. The main duty for this is to develop research methodology, such as conducting literature reviews, questionnaires, assisting in data collection and analysis, and contributing to the preparation of research reports and knowledge materials, and developing research and policy briefs of the research work.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, design and lead the research projects of DBI.
Review, analyze and synthesize the Research Fellows’ research work and previous DBI research reports.
Lead fieldwork, including data collection and data analysis
Develop research strategy integrating DBI’s principles and strategies.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor and leadership team.
Develop a research brief and knowledge products
Organize and conduct capacity-building workshops for the DBI team and partners
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Master’s Degree and 4 years of minimum work experience in leading research
Strong research and analytical skills, with a proven ability to collect, analyze, and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data.
Experience in leading action and pro-people research.
Research articles publication or the author of published articles will be an Addition
Experience producing policy briefs, policy reports, and evidence-based position Papers.
Demonstrated experience in conducting fieldwork and engaging with communities.
Proven networking, team-building, organizational and communication skills;
Proficiency in Nepali and English writing
Proficiency in computer software for data collection, analysis and report writing.
Commitment to climate justice, gender equality, social justice, economic justice and sustainable development.
