Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and strategic Account Officer to join our Finance & Accounts team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and financial analysis while supporting senior management with accurate and actionable financial insights.

The role also involves team coordination, cost control, process improvement, audit support, and ensuring compliance with applicable Nepalese accounting and tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and general accounting activities.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and financial records.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to the CEO, Chairman, and Board.
  • Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial commitments to support effective financial planning.
  • Lead cost-control initiatives and identify opportunities to improve financial efficiency.
  • Review and improve accounting processes, controls, and financial workflows.
  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with Nepalese tax regulations, including VAT, TDS, and Income Tax.
  • Manage tax filings, tax documentation, assessments, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support internal and statutory audits.
  • Identify financial and compliance risks and implement appropriate internal controls and risk mitigation measures.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor the Finance & Accounts team to ensure effective performance and accountability.
  • Monitor the performance and accuracy of accounting systems and recommend improvements where required.
  • Maintain proper financial documentation and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and business decision-making.
Job Specification

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, audit, or a similar role.
  • Previous experience in team supervision, financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting and reporting.
  • Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cost control.
  • Strong knowledge of Nepalese tax regulations, particularly:
    • VAT
    • TDS
    • Income Tax
    • Tax filing and compliance
  • Good understanding of audit procedures and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.
  • Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and management reports.
  • Knowledge of applicable Nepal Financial Reporting Standards (NFRS) and regulatory requirements will be an advantage.
