Job Description
Job Summary
The Account & Finance Manager will own the day-to-day accounting and support key financial management activities for an import and trading business. This role includes generating clear financial data, compiling and submitting reports, and helping the company understand its financial position—so better operational and commercial decisions can be made. You will keep the books accurate, support strong financial planning, and ensure everything is ready for tax and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Handle daily financial management tasks including generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, and assessing the financial health of the company.
Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual accounts for finalization, reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax (VAT, TDS & income tax) and financial reporting standards, and support cash flow forecasting.
Keep the company’s financial documentation and forecasts organized and up to date.
Process LC in coordination with the bank by providing the required documents.
Monitor the CHA team for import cargo clearance progress and timely updates.
Review and maintain the accounting database within the accounting system.
Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure account balance accuracy, review daily cash balances, and maintain cash flow projections.
Work closely with vendors to manage payments, maintain vendor contracts, follow up on late payments, report bad debts, and stay alert to cash flow needs.
Follow up on any uncollected accounts and support credit collection.
Support month-end close reconciliation and financial analysis to identify gaps and improve accuracy.
Review and reconcile Group Company’s accounts.
Job Specification
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field; CA/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
5+ years of hands-on accounting and finance experience in trading, import, or similar commercial environments.
Accounting — proficient in vouchers/ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliation, and closing processes.
Chart of accounts — able to design, maintain, and standardize account structures for trading transactions and cost categorization.
Financial reporting — able to prepare and review monthly/quarterly reports and supporting schedules with accuracy and timeliness.
Financial Planning — experience with budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of margins, cash position, and working capital.
Taxation & Compliance — working knowledge of Nepali tax practices, statutory requirements, and filing documentation.
