Job Description
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, machinery, and services required for FMCG operations. The role ensures cost efficiency, quality compliance, uninterrupted supply, and strong vendor relationships in line with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business and production plans
Source, evaluate, and finalize vendors for raw materials, packaging, and indirect purchases
Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings
Ensure timely procurement to avoid production disruptions and stock-outs
Monitor vendor performance on quality, cost, delivery, and compliance
Coordinate closely with Production, Quality Control, Finance, and Warehouse teams
Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards
Manage purchase orders, approvals, and procurement documentation
Analyze market trends, price fluctuations, and supply risks
Lead cost reduction and value engineering initiatives
Maintain accurate procurement reports and MIS
Handle import/export procurement (if applicable) including documentation and coordination
Job Specification
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
Master’s degree or professional certification (CIPS, CSCP) will be an advantage
5–8 years of procurement experience, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing industry
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Knowledge of FMCG raw materials, packaging materials, and local/global sourcing
Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally or similar)
Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
