Job Description
The Deputy Director – Vendor (V), Logistics (L) & Warehouse (W) supports the strategic and operational leadership of vendor management, logistics, and warehouse functions with a strong focus on Manaram Farm (MRF) operations. S/he is responsible for translating supply chain strategies into effective execution, ensuring smooth vendor coordination, efficient logistics movement, and disciplined warehouse and inventory control.
This position serves as a key operational leader, ensuring day-to-day supply chain continuity while driving process improvements, cost efficiency, and compliance with quality and ethical standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
Vendor Coordination & Procurement Support
- Support vendor sourcing, evaluation, onboarding, and performance monitoring in line with approved vendor policies.
- Coordinate with approved vendors to ensure timely supply of raw materials, packaging, and services.
- Monitor vendor delivery schedules, quality compliance, and issue resolution.
- Support price negotiations, contract renewals, and vendor documentation.
- Ensure vendor compliance with ethical sourcing, labor standards, and company policies.
- Knowledge of import and export of product.
Logistics Operations Management
- Monitor and assess day-to-day inbound and outbound logistics operations.
- Coordinate with transporters, freight forwarders, and clearing agents for domestic and cross-border shipments.
- Ensure timely dispatch of finished goods to customers, distributors, and warehouses.
- Monitor logistics costs and support initiatives to optimize transportation efficiency.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of shipping, customs, and regulatory documentation.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through stock counts, reconciliations, and system discipline.
- Maintain FIFO/FEFO practices, storage standards, and safety requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock-outs, overstocking, damage, or expiry.
- Coordinate with Production and Sales teams for material availability and dispatch planning.
Systems, SOPs & Process Improvement
- Implement and enforce SOPs related to vendor coordination, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain records and data required for audits, certifications, and management reviews.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Sales, Finance, HR and Admin teams to ensure seamless supply chain execution.
- Support production planning by ensuring timely availability of materials.
- Align dispatch priorities with sales requirements and customer commitments.
- Coordinate with Finance for GRN accuracy, invoice matching, and vendor payments.
Team Supervision & Compliance
- Supervise warehouse, logistics, and vendor coordination teams.
- Allocate duties, set daily/weekly priorities, and monitor performance.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, internal controls, and statutory requirements.
- Promote safe, disciplined, and compliant working practices in warehouses and logistics operations.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain up-to-date vendor records and documentation.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on vendor performance, compliance, risks, and value generation.
Job Specification
- Bachelor's degree in management, Logistics, Operations, or related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in vendor coordination, logistics, warehouse, or supply chain roles.
- At least 3–5 years in a managerial or senior supervisory capacity.
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, food, or pet products industries preferred.
