Job Description

The Business Development & Operations Manager will be responsible for driving new business opportunities while ensuring effective internal coordination, follow-up, HR support, and executive operations.

The role combines:

Business Development → Client Relationships → Communication → Coordination → Follow-Through → Closure

The ideal candidate will be commercially driven, highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing both external client relationships and internal organisational responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Lead Generation

  • Identify and generate new business opportunities through market research, networking, referrals, cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, and other channels.
  • Research potential clients, industries, market trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities in the technology sector.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Build relationships with potential and existing clients to generate repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding existing client accounts.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve individual and company sales targets.

IT Solutions Sales & Client Consultation

  • Understand client business requirements and recommend suitable solutions, including web development, mobile app development, cloud solutions, and IT consulting services.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, product/service demonstrations, and regular follow-ups.
  • Understand project requirements and coordinate with technical and project teams to develop appropriate solutions.
  • Prepare business proposals, quotations, presentations, and solution-based sales documents.
  • Present solutions professionally and communicate their business value to clients.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and support contract discussions and closure.

Sales Pipeline & CRM Management

  • Manage the complete business development cycle from lead generation to negotiation and conversion.
  • Maintain accurate and updated lead, prospect, client, and sales pipeline records in CRM or other business development tools.
  • Ensure timely follow-up with prospects and existing clients.
  • Track proposals, negotiations, meetings, follow-ups, and conversion status.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, sales performance, and upcoming opportunities.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Act as a key point of contact throughout the sales and business development process.
  • Understand client expectations and ensure timely coordination with relevant internal teams.
  • Maintain healthy long-term client relationships and support customer retention.

HR & People Operations

  • Coordinate the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, probation, confirmation, promotion, performance documentation, and exit processes.

  • Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates.
  • Prepare and maintain offer letters, joining letters, employment documentation, and employee files.
  • Maintain attendance, leave, probation, performance, and other HR trackers.
  • Coordinate employee induction and departmental training.
  • Support Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) documentation where required.
  • Maintain records of warnings, counselling, performance discussions, and employee grievances.
  • Coordinate resignations, exit interviews, departmental and Accounts clearance, asset handover, final settlement, and experience/relieving letters.
  • Maintain employee birthdays, work anniversaries, and other important people-related dates.

CEO & Executive Coordination

  • Act as a reliable coordination point for important CEO and management instructions.
  • Translate management directions into clear actions, responsible owners, and deadlines.
  • Communicate authorised management instructions clearly to relevant employees and departments.
  • Maintain a CEO Action & Follow-Up Tracker.
  • Follow up on high-priority tasks and ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate cross-functional actions involving multiple departments.
  • Escalate delays, unresolved issues, or lack of ownership to management.
  • Provide the CEO with concise and factual updates on important pending matters.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive management and employee information.

Meetings, Minutes & Action Tracking

  • Coordinate important management and departmental meetings.
  • Prepare agendas and supporting materials where required.

Accounts & Production Coordination

  • Conduct periodic operational health checks with the Accounts and Production teams.
  • Coordinate with Accounts to monitor pending invoices, outstanding dues, approvals, employee settlements, reimbursements, payroll-related HR matters, and other pending finance documentation.
  • Prepare a short bi-weekly Accounts Health Update covering:
    On Track | Watch | At Risk | Action Required
  • Coordinate with Production to monitor work-in-progress, approaching delivery deadlines, delayed orders, production bottlenecks, CAD/design dependencies, vendor/material dependencies, and important client commitment risks.
  • Ensure major risks and pending management decisions are identified and escalated early.
  • Provide visibility and coordination without taking over the responsibilities of the Accounts or Production Heads.

Organisational Governance & Internal Communication

  • Maintain a central organisational calendar covering probation reviews, performance reviews, training, departmental reviews, reporting deadlines, meetings, HR documentation, onboarding/offboarding, and other important organisational activities.
  • Draft and coordinate important internal notices and employee communications.
  • Ensure management decisions, policies, and procedures are communicated clearly.
  • Maintain consistency in internal documentation and records.
  • Support employee engagement and organisational culture initiatives.
  • Identify recurring communication, coordination, or accountability gaps and bring them to management's attention.
