Job Description
The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services while maintaining quality standards and compliance with company policies. The role involves supplier management, purchase order processing, market research, negotiation, and coordination with internal departments to meet organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute procurement plans in line with organizational requirements and budgets.
Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Source materials, equipment, and services from approved suppliers.
Request and analyze quotations, negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation.
Ensure timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining required quality standards.
Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular vendor evaluations.
Coordinate with finance, operations, warehouse, and other departments for procurement activities.
Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement in procurement processes.
Assist in inventory planning and supply chain optimization.
Job Specification
Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations (preferred).
Knowledge of procurement procedures, vendor management, and negotiation techniques.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and procurement/ERP systems.
Good understanding of market trends, pricing, and supplier networks.
