Job Description
Aecom a leader in audio-video design, supply, and installation, currently handles conferencing projects on an ad-hoc basis. This role will own the segment — building a pipeline, running demos, closing deals, and delivering installations. It is a front-to-back role suited to someone who is as comfortable talking to an IT manager as they are crimping a cable.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Business Development
Identify and develop a pipeline of prospects: corporate offices, banks, INGOs, government bodies, hotels, and educational institutions
Conduct site surveys and requirement assessments to understand room acoustics, display needs, camera placement, and IT network constraints
Design basic conferencing room layouts and prepare Bills of Quantity (BOQ) using Aecom's product portfolio
Prepare and deliver technical presentations and live product demonstrations to IT officers, procurement teams, and decision-makers
Develop proposals, quotations, and technical specifications in coordination with the internal AV team
Sales & Client Management
Own the full sales cycle from first contact to signed purchase order
Build and maintain relationships with IT departments, facility managers, and procurement officers at target organisations
Track and follow up on active proposals; maintain a live pipeline tracker
Meet monthly and quarterly revenue targets tied to a performance incentive structure
Installation & Technical Commissioning
Lead the technical installation and commissioning of conferencing systems — codec setup, display mounting, camera configuration, microphone placement, and DSP tuning
Perform structured cable management, rack assembly, and labelling to Aecom's installation standards
Conduct end-user handover training and produce as-built documentation
Coordinate with the broader Aecom installation team on larger projects where conferencing forms one segment of a wider AV deployment
After-Sales & Support
Be the first point of contact for conferencing client's post-installation
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues remotely and on-site
Track AMC renewals and proactively pitch service contracts
Job Specification
Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, IT, Electronics
1–2 years of experience in IT hardware sales, IT support/helpdesk, network infrastructure, or technical pre-sales
Hands-on experience setting up AV systems, smart classrooms, or conferencing rooms — even informally — will be strongly preferred but not mandatory.
We will also consider strong candidates from:
IT product distributors or resellers (someone who has sold servers, networking gear, or smart devices to corporate clients)
Smart home / building automation technicians with client-facing experience
Broadcast or media production technicians looking to transition into the corporate AV space
Skills & Attributes
Technical Skills (Required)
Working knowledge of IP networking — VLANs, TCP/IP, PoE switches, Wi-Fi infrastructure
Familiarity with Windows and Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, SharePoint)
Ability to read and markup basic floor plans or room layouts
Comfortable with structured cabling: HDMI, Cat6, audio snake, power management
Soft Skills
Strong verbal communication — presenting to IT directors and procurement heads regularly
Self-driven with the ability to manage your own pipeline without daily supervision
Problem-solving mindset: installations rarely go exactly to plan
Professional presentation and client etiquette
Comfortable working at height, on ladders, or in server rooms during installations
Who We Are Looking For
We do not expect you to arrive as a trained AV engineer — that profile is rare in Nepal and we know it. What we are looking for is a technically inclined person who is quick to learn, confident in front of clients, and comfortable working with their hands on-site.
