Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for assigned territories/products
Identify and develop new distribution channels, retail outlets, and key accounts
Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers
Plan and execute marketing campaigns, promotions, and product launches
Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer preferences to adjust strategies
Conduct field visits to ensure product visibility, shelf space, and merchandising standards
Collect market intelligence and provide feedback to product and marketing teams
Negotiate pricing, discounts, and promotional offers with clients and distributors
Collaborate with the marketing team for brand positioning, advertisements, and events
Organize trade activations, in-store promotions, and product sampling campaigns
Maintain accurate sales reports, forecasts, and performance dashboards
Train and motivate retail staff or sales teams on product knowledge and selling techniques
Ensure timely stock replenishment and manage inventory at distributor/retailer level
Handle customer complaints, resolve issues, and ensure high service standards
Job Specification
The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field; an MBA is preferred for senior roles.
A minimum of 2–5 years of experience in FMCG sales or marketing is required.
The candidate should have a proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing distribution channels.
Experience in trade marketing, retail management, or key account management is an added advantage.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential.
The candidate must have a strong understanding of FMCG market dynamics and consumer behaviour.
Ability to plan, execute, and monitor sales and marketing campaigns effectively.
Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with basic CRM tools are required.
Strong analytical skills to track sales, perform market research, and analyse competitor activities.
Must have teamwork and leadership skills to coordinate with distributors, retailers, and internal teams.
The candidate should be result-orientated, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
A customer-centric approach with strong problem-solving abilities is required.
Knowledge of merchandising, in-store promotions, and branding strategies is desirable.
Flexibility to travel frequently within assigned territories is mandatory.
High energy, motivation, and a professional attitude are essential to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven FMCG environment
