Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Chemistry Lab Technician to join the Quality Control team at Rathi Adhesive Pvt. Ltd. The primary purpose of this role is to uphold our quality standards by conducting rigorous physical and chemical tests on both incoming raw materials and finished adhesive formulations, ensuring perfect consistency in every batch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raw Material Testing: Inspect and analyze all incoming raw materials (e.g., polymers, resins, additives, plasticizers) against strict procurement specifications before they are cleared for the production floor.
  • Product Consistency & QC: Perform routine quality control tests on finished adhesive batches (including standard lines and specialized SKUs like Aquamax, Heatmax, and D3MAX) to verify parameters such as viscosity, solid content, pH, specific gravity, and bonding strength/shear strength.
  • In-Process Monitoring: Pull and test samples at various stages of the manufacturing process, collaborating with the production team to make real-time formulation adjustments if batch variations occur.
  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on standard laboratory equipment (viscometers, pH meters, moisture analyzers, tensile testers) to ensure pinpoint accuracy.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain meticulous and up-to-date digital logs of all test results, batch records, and material safety data. Flag any out-of-spec materials or deviations immediately to the operational leadership.
  • Safety & Housekeeping: Adhere strictly to chemical handling and laboratory safety protocols, ensuring the lab remains clean, organized, and compliant with all industrial safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Applied Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing laboratory environment, preferably within the adhesives, paints, or broader chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with standard laboratory testing equipment and an understanding of chemical testing methodologies (e.g., DIN EN 204 D3 testing protocols).
  • Core Competencies: High attention to detail, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across the production and quality teams.

Benefits & Relocation

  • Housing & Relocation Assistance: For eligible candidates requiring relocation to Biratnagar, the company provides comprehensive relocation support and dedicated residential facilities.
