Job Description
The Biomedical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and technical support of biomedical equipment. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of medical devices, provides training to clinical staff, and prepares operational and maintenance plans. The Service Engineer will coordinate with internal teams, manufacturers, and end-users to address equipment issues, conduct preventive maintenance, and support the planning and logistics of equipment delivery and installation. Regular reporting, documentation, and follow-up on warranty and performance issues are integral to this role.
Job Description:
- Install, adjust, maintain, repair, and provide technical support for biomedical equipment
- Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment
- Train clinicians and other personnel on the application and operation of equipment
- Review and consolidate the medical equipment and consumable planning lists. Review their operational performances, and make recommendations
- Support in the preparation of the technical requirements for the installation of the equipment.
- Support in the planning of the logistic of delivery, and installation of equipment and infrastructure
- Reporting and maintaining service records of daily service activities.
- Review the medical assets/systems operational performances produce reports and follow up on any warranty maintenance as required.
- Prepare operational and maintenance plans for all equipment/systems installed under the project, and issue to the client
- Attend any call physically for equipment service, machine breakdowns as required
- Work closely with medical professionals, such as doctors and therapists as well as with end-users to make sure needs are being addressed.
- Timely maintenance of equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules, conducting tests and troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions
- Liaise with technicians and manufacturers to ensure the feasibility of a product in terms of design and economic viability
- Maintain timely and effective communications with the other related department such as Sales and Marketing, Store and Accounts
Job Specification
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
- 1–2 years of experience in engineering role.
- Experience in Invitro & Diagnostic Sector is an advantage.
