Job Description

We are seeking an entrepreneurial and commercially driven Business Head to establish and scale a new business vertical from the ground up. This is a build-from-zero leadership role, not a caretaker position for an existing operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the business strategy, establishing principal/OEM relationships, developing the go-to-market model, building the sales and distribution network, recruiting and leading the team, managing operations, and owning the complete P&L of the vertical.

The ideal candidate will combine a founder's mindset with the discipline of a professional operator who is comfortable working in ambiguity and building with a lean team while maintaining strong financial, operational, and performance discipline. The Business Head will operate with significant autonomy while working closely with Group Leadership on strategic direction, capital allocation, partnerships, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Market Entry

  • Develop and own the complete business plan for the new vertical.
  • Conduct market sizing, including TAM/SAM analysis, market assessment, and opportunity identification.
  • Define market positioning, product strategy, pricing, revenue model, and path to profitability.
  • Develop and execute the market-entry and business expansion roadmap.
  • Continuously monitor market conditions and adapt the strategy based on customer, competitor, and business insights.
  • Track competitors, regulations, market trends, and category developments.

Principal, OEM & Strategic Partnerships

  • Identify, negotiate, secure, and manage relationships with OEMs, principals, manufacturers, and strategic partners.
  • Lead negotiations related to commercial terms, pricing, exclusivity, warranty, supply commitments, credit terms, and other partnership conditions.
  • Serve as the primary interface between the Group and principal/OEM partners.
  • Build long-term strategic partnerships to support business growth and market leadership.

Sales & Distribution Network Development

  • Build the complete sales and distribution engine from the ground up.
  • Develop, appoint, onboard, and manage dealers, distributors, channel partners, and other sales partners.
  • Set sales targets, performance standards, incentive structures, and channel strategies.
  • Own sales volume, revenue growth, market share, and overall commercial performance.
  • Establish systems for dealer performance monitoring and channel development.
  • Develop financing tie-ups, including partnerships with financial institutions and relevant Group financial-services businesses, to support sales growth.

P&L and Financial Management

  • Take complete ownership of the vertical's Profit and Loss (P&L).
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, financial plans, and business targets.
  • Own pricing strategy, margins, working capital, cash flow, and unit economics.
  • Monitor revenue, costs, profitability, inventory, and financial performance.
  • Deliver against agreed financial milestones and business objectives.
  • Provide transparent and regular performance reports to Group Leadership.
  • Make data-driven decisions related to capital allocation and business investment.

Operations & Supply Chain Management

  • Establish and manage import, logistics, inventory, distribution, and after-sales/service operations.
  • Own the end-to-end supply chain, from sourcing to delivery and customer support.
  • Manage sourcing, purchase orders, LC and payment structures, shipping, customs clearance, and inventory planning.
  • Ensure proper product registration, homologation, certification, and other applicable approvals.
  • Develop efficient operational systems and processes to support future scalability.
  • Establish after-sales, service, warranty, and customer support infrastructure where applicable.

Team Building & Leadership

  • Build the vertical's organizational structure and hire key team members.
  • Recruit, lead, develop, and retain teams across sales, operations, service, marketing, and support functions.
  • Establish a high-performance, accountable, and execution-focused culture.
  • Define KPIs, performance standards, incentive structures, and reporting systems.
  • Develop future leaders and build a scalable organizational structure.

Brand, Marketing & Go-to-Market

  • Define the brand positioning and market communication strategy.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market and demand-generation strategies.
  • Oversee product naming, launch strategy, customer acquisition, and market activation.
  • Build a performance-driven marketing funnel focused on measurable business results.
  • Work closely with marketing teams and external agencies to drive lead generation, conversions, and market penetration.

Compliance & Regulatory Management

  • Ensure full compliance with Nepal's import, tax, transport, customs, and sector-specific regulations.
  • Manage regulatory and government-facing matters relevant to the business.
  • Oversee matters related to duties, tariffs, product registration, approvals, remittances, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with relevant authorities, institutions, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Ensure all business operations comply with applicable laws and company policies.

Reporting & Strategic Collaboration

  • Work closely with Group Leadership on strategic planning, capital allocation, partnerships, and business expansion.
  • Present regular business performance updates, financial reports, market insights, and strategic recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for expansion, new products, partnerships, and additional revenue streams.
  • Take full ownership of execution from initial concept through to a sustainable and profitable business operation.
