Job Description

KPA Cashmere is seeking a creative and technically skilled Fashion Designer to develop its annual cashmere collection and support merchandising for upcoming retail stores. The role requires hands-on expertise in both woven and knitted products, with the ability to turn creative concepts into practical, production-ready designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design cashmere shawls, scarves, sweaters, knitwear and winterwear.
  • Develop products across both woven and knitted categories.
  • Create collection concepts, colour palettes, textures, patterns and design directions.
  • Prepare fashion sketches, measurements, specifications and technical details.
  • Coordinate with the production team throughout design, sampling and final production.
  • Develop both commercial/basic products and signature collection pieces.
  • Research international fashion, textile and winterwear trends.
  • Conduct domestic market research and develop designs that are commercially viable and achievable with available resources.
  • Support merchandising and product development for upcoming retail stores.
Job Specification
  • Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design or an equivalent field.
  • 2–5+ years of relevant experience in fashion, textile, knitwear or related design; strong candidates with less experience may be considered based on portfolio and technical skills.
  • Strong practical knowledge of knitting, weaving, stitches, textures and garment construction.
  • Good understanding of measurements, proportions and fit.
  • Ability to develop designs that are both creative and production-ready.
  • Experience working with wool, cashmere or other natural fibres is highly preferred.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating relevant woven and knitted product development.

What We Offer

Working Days: 3 days per week
Salary: NPR 20,000/month, depending on experience
Benefits: Lunch provided

Note

Hands-on knowledge of both woven and knitted products is essential. This position is specifically for a designer capable of working with production teams and developing manufacturable products, rather than a fashion illustrator or concept-only designer.
