Job Description

The Food Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily food service operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, customer service, and staff performance. The role involves supervising kitchen and service staff, maintaining food safety compliance, and ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily food preparation and service operations.
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, portion control, and taste standards are consistently met.
  • Monitor hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and on-duty performance.
  • Train and guide kitchen and service staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinate with chefs, kitchen staff, and service teams to ensure timely service.
  • Handle customer feedback, complaints, and special requests professionally.
  • Monitor inventory levels, wastage, and food cost control.
  • Ensure proper storage of raw materials and finished food items.
  • Assist in menu planning and implementation, when required.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations.
  • Prepare daily reports on operations, staff performance, and issues.
  • Support management during audits, inspections, and peak operations.
  • Maintain the Item logbook and ledger.
Job Specification
  • Diploma or certification in Hotel Management, Food & Beverage, or Hospitality (preferred).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in food service operations or a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of local food safety regulations.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP preferred).
  • Good leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle peak service hours.
  • Strong communication and customer-handling skills.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and cost control.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and quality orientation.
