Job Description
Deco World Ltd is seeking a skilled Electrician / Maintenance Technician to handle the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and general facility upkeep. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in electrical work along with general maintenance skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform autonomously electrical work, from design to wiring and installation.
- Handle general maintenance duties including plumbing, welding, and minor construction work.
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems and equipment.
- Purchase and prudently use raw materials and maintenance supplies.
- Make independent decisions on repair or improvement methods.
- Complete all assigned maintenance and repair tasks within given deadlines.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations when required.
Job Specification
- Proven experience as an electrician or maintenance technician.
- Sound knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety procedures.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, welding, and general repair work.
- Ability to work independently and make technical decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
- Working Hours: 45 hours per week (8 hours per day, excluding lunch breaks).
- Schedule: Weekend work required on the same schedule as weekdays.
- Availability: Must be able to respond to emergencies at any time.
- Rest Days: Two rest days per month.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Basic Salary: Rs 56,000 per month (for 45 hours/week).
- Ex-Gratia Payment: Rs 16,000 per month (inclusive of end-of-year bonus, sick leave, and other bonuses).
- Total Monthly Remuneration: Rs 72820.
- Overtime: Paid at 1.5 times the basic hourly rate for work exceeding 195 hours in a month.
Accommodation:
- Shared company-provided dormitory accommodation for expatriate staff.
- Rs 1300 monthly allowance for water and electricity.
- Dormitory must be kept clean; monthly inspections are conducted before salary payment.
- Staff may be required to reside in the showroom if dormitory space is limited or when continuous on-site presence is necessary for operational or security reasons.
Contract & Performance:
- Probation Period: 6 months.
- If performance is unsatisfactory, the cost of the return ticket will be deducted from salary.
- Contract Duration: 3 years (renewable based on performance and management’s discretion).
Expenses & Travel:
- Personal expenses (internet, food, clothing, etc.) are borne by the employee.
- The company provides a return ticket after successful completion of 3 years of service.
- The employee bears costs for medical tests, passport fees, and inbound travel to Mauritius.
- The company may advance these costs and recover them over six months through salary deductions.
