Job Description
The Manager of HR and Admin in a construction company is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all human resources and administrative functions to support the construction projects and the overall operation of the company. This role involves managing HR policies, recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and general administrative tasks.
Human Resource Management:
Should plan and organize the recruitment and staffing function of the Group company.
Should formulate and implement policies and manuals relating to admin function and HR function.
Should handle disciplinary actions and terminations of employees when necessary, in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Should facilitate employee training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to construction industry needs.
Should be dynamic and ability of problem solving,
Should have interdepartmental coordination skill.
Administrative Management:
Should plan and organize the day-to-day operations and other admin function of the Group company effectively.
Should finalize and implement module related to Fixed Assets management system and take necessary steps to safeguard the assets of the Group company,
Recovery & Legal:
Should analyze and manage financial data related to recovery activities and plan the recovery actions accordingly.
Should Initiate for debt recovery and legal actions, if necessary.
Should have capability to negotiate with external and third parties,
Should be able to design, develop and implement template related to the overall function of the group company,
Should have depth knowledge of legal compliances and country law. Should be able to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and statutory requirements.
Should be able to organize contract management system to track contract terms, expiry dates, and renewal requirement,
Others Roles and Responsibilities as directed by immediate Supervisor and respective line Manager
Job Specification
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Law, Public Administration, or a related field.
Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD, HRCI) — desirable.
Experience
At least 5 years of progressive experience in HR and administration, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
Prior experience in a construction company, engineering firm, or project-driven organization is strongly preferred.
Technical Knowledge & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Nepali labour laws, statutory compliances, and regulatory requirements.
Solid experience in recruitment, onboarding, performance management, disciplinary procedures, termination processes, and employee relations.
Experience designing and implementing HR policies, employee manuals, and administrative SOPs.
Familiarity with fixed asset management systems and safeguards for physical assets.
Understanding of contract management and contract lifecycle tracking (terms, expiry, renewals).
Experience with debt recovery processes and initiating legal or recovery actions when required.
Proficient in HRIS, MS Office (advanced Excel), and common accounting/ERP or payroll software.
