The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, managing accounting transactions, and ensuring compliance with applicable financial regulations and company policies. The role supports the organization's financial operations by maintaining proper accounting controls, preparing reconciliations, and coordinating with financial institutions as required.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Record and document financial transactions by accurately entering accounting information.
- Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing financial information.
- Update journal entries for accrued expenses and revenue.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting documentation.
Reconciliation & Financial Control
- Analyze and reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records.
- Maintain accounting controls by adhering to company policies, procedures, and applicable financial regulations.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of accounting records.
Reporting
- Update financial information in accounting databases to ensure data is accurate and readily available.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly financial reports.
- Assist management by providing timely financial information and reports as required.
Banking & Compliance
- Coordinate and correspond with banks regarding financial transactions and banking requirements.
- Assist with banking documentation and related financial processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial, legal, and regulatory requirements.
