About the Role
AWT WorkSecure is looking for Tier-2 Network & Systems Engineers to handle technical escalations, infrastructure support, backup and recovery, network security, endpoint security and client onboarding.
The role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who can diagnose problems, identify root causes, implement permanent solutions and work across multiple client environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle Tier-2 technical escalations across Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, networking and endpoint systems.
- Troubleshoot servers, virtualisation, networks, firewalls, VPNs and complex endpoint issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent solutions for recurring incidents.
- Configure, monitor and maintain Veeam Backup & Replication for assigned clients.
- Monitor daily backups, troubleshoot failures and perform regular restore and recovery tests.
- Support data recovery during backup or data-loss incidents.
- Manage firewall, routing, VLAN and VPN configurations and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Monitor and respond to endpoint security / EDR alerts, including device isolation and remediation.
- Maintain endpoint security agents, patch compliance and system health.
- Support client onboarding, including asset discovery, agent deployment, backup configuration, remote access and go-live activities.
- Develop automation and remediation scripts using PowerShell and Bash.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset records, configurations, runbooks and knowledge-base articles.
- Mentor Helpdesk Support Executives and provide technical guidance on escalated issues.
- Participate in scheduled out-of-hours on-call support for critical incidents.
- Follow approved change-management procedures for all production changes.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in Systems Administration, Network Administration, NOC, MSP, ISP or Tier-2 technical support.
- Strong Windows Server administration skills.
- Practical experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
- Good knowledge of Linux administration and command-line troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication or equivalent enterprise backup solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Networking, Routing, VLAN, VPN and Firewall troubleshooting.
- Experience with PowerShell and Bash scripting.
- Good troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare clear technical documentation in English.
- Willingness to participate in a rotating out-of-hours on-call schedule.
Preferred / Added Advantage
- Veeam VMCE, Microsoft/Azure, CCNA or Fortinet certification.
- Experience with VMware, Proxmox or Hyper-V.
- Experience with Zabbix, Prometheus or Grafana.
- Experience with Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM) platforms.
- Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration experience.
- Experience working in Managed Service Provider (MSP), ISP or Data Centre environments.
- Experience supporting multiple client environments.
