Job Description

Thunderbolts Football Club is a dynamic and growing community football club with a strong commitment to excellence on and off the pitch. We proudly field competitive teams in all local tournaments and run a thriving, year-round football academy dedicated to nurturing young talent from ages 6 to 19. Our mission is to develop skilled players, build character, and foster a lifelong love for the beautiful game.

The Role:

We are seeking a passionate, organized, and driven Manager to oversee the entire operations of Thunderbolts Football Club and its Academy. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the club, the strategic growth of our academy, and the overall health and development of our football community.

Key Responsibilities:

Academy Management (Ages 6-19):

  • Oversee the daily operations of the academy, which runs 5 days a week, year-round.
  • Ensure high-quality, consistent coaching and a positive, developmental environment for all young players.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for parents, providing regular updates on player progress, schedules, and club communications.
  • Handle parent inquiries, feedback, and manage relationships to ensure high satisfaction and retention.

Club Operations:

  • Manage all administrative and logistical aspects of the club’s participation in local tournaments.
  • Coordinate the year-round training schedule for all club teams.
  • Source and manage all procurements for both the club and academy—including equipment, kit, training gear, and other essentials—ensuring timely delivery and within budget.

Growth & Development:

  • Develop and implement strategies for the growth of the club and academy, including player recruitment, retention, and program expansion.
  • Work to enhance the club’s reputation and presence within the local community.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in coaching, facilities, and overall player experience.

Administration & Leadership:

  • Manage budgets, registrations, and compliance with local football association regulations.
  • Lead and support coaching staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement.
  • Solve problems proactively and ensure all activities run smoothly and safely.

Job Specification
  • A passionate football enthusiast with a deep understanding of the game and youth development.
  • Proven experience in sports management, administration, or a similar leadership role.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with players, parents, coaches, and vendors.
  • A proactive, hands-on problem-solver who can manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with procurement, budgeting, and operational planning is a strong advantage.
  • Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, aligned with training and match schedules.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to shape the future of a vibrant football club and academy.
  • A central leadership role within a passionate sports community.
  • A dynamic and rewarding work environment.
  • Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.
