We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Project Manager – Road Construction to lead the planning, execution, supervision, and monitoring of road and highway construction projects from mobilization through final handover. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring effective on-site project delivery, contract administration, coordination with government authorities and clients, quality and safety compliance, and effective cost and schedule control.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Prepare and manage project work plans, schedules, and resource mobilization plans.
- Oversee day-to-day site operations for road and highway construction works.
- Ensure construction activities are carried out according to approved drawings, technical specifications, BOQ, and project requirements.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
- Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, site teams, and other technical personnel for smooth project execution.
Contract & Compliance Management
- Administer construction contracts in accordance with PPMO regulations and applicable government conditions of contract.
- Prepare and process Extension of Time (EOT) applications, variation orders, and force majeure notices within stipulated timelines.
- Coordinate with Road Divisions, Project Offices, consultants, supervising engineers, and relevant government authorities.
- Ensure compliance with site clearance requirements, Right of Way (ROW) obstruction removal, statutory approvals, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation related to contracts, approvals, correspondence, and project records.
Financial & Resource Management
- Prepare and verify running bills, Measurement Books (MB), and monthly progress and cost reports.
- Monitor project budgets against actual costs and report significant variances to management.
- Plan and coordinate the mobilization and utilization of construction equipment, including excavators, breakers, rollers, and other machinery.
- Coordinate labor requirements and material procurement according to project needs.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Monitor resource utilization and take appropriate measures to minimize unnecessary costs and delays.
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports to management and clients.
- Liaise with local stakeholders, government offices, community representatives, consultants, and other concerned parties.
- Represent the company in site meetings, inspections, progress reviews, and project-related discussions.
- Participate in dispute resolution and negotiation discussions when required.
- Maintain effective communication between the head office and project sites.
Quality, Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure construction works comply with approved designs, specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
- Monitor site safety practices and ensure compliance with applicable health and safety standards.
- Identify potential project risks, delays, and technical issues and implement appropriate corrective measures.
- Ensure proper coordination and response during challenging site conditions, including hill roads, slope instability, and landslide-prone areas.
