Nihal Saving and Credit Cooperative Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Finance Officer to manage day-to-day financial and accounting activities of the cooperative. The Finance Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring savings and credit transactions, preparing financial reports, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with applicable cooperative policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
The role requires strong numerical ability, attention to detail, integrity, and practical knowledge of cooperative accounting and financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate records of daily financial and accounting transactions.
- Record and verify savings, credit, receipts, payments, vouchers, and other financial transactions.
- Prepare and maintain ledgers, journals, cash books, bank books, and supporting financial documents.
- Perform regular cash and bank reconciliation and identify discrepancies for timely resolution.
- Monitor members’ savings, loan accounts, repayments, interest, and outstanding dues.
- Assist in loan processing, documentation, disbursement records, and repayment monitoring.
- Prepare periodic financial statements, management reports, and financial summaries.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate funds are available for operational requirements.
- Coordinate with banks and financial institutions regarding deposits, withdrawals, statements, and other financial transactions.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of invoices, receipts, vouchers, loan documents, and other financial records.
- Assist in preparing documents and schedules required for internal and external audits.
- Support timely preparation and submission of applicable tax, financial, and regulatory reports.
- Ensure financial activities are conducted in accordance with the cooperative's policies, procedures, bylaws, and prevailing regulatory requirements.
- Monitor financial discrepancies, irregularities, and potential risks and report them to management.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of financial and member-related information.
- Coordinate with management, auditors, and relevant departments regarding financial matters.
- Provide financial information and reports to management to support effective decision-making.
- Perform other finance and accounting duties assigned by management.
