Job Description
Position Overview:
The Technical Assistant will support the maintenance and smooth functioning of electrical and mechanical systems within the dairy plant. The role involves regular inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment such as control panel boards, relays, solenoid valves, and motors. In addition, the position requires maintaining proper documentation, ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards, and assisting manpower with documentation responsibilities in the Nandini building. This role also provides opportunities to learn and grow by working alongside skilled technicians.
Roles and Responsibilities
System Maintenance
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of plant machinery to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair panel boards, relays, solenoid valves, motors, and related components.
- Manage, inspect, and maintain single-phase and three-phase electrical wiring, panels, and power distribution systems.
- Provide dedicated care, continuous monitoring, and preventive maintenance of all dairy machinery to ensure zero production downtime and maximum equipment lifespan.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and integration of new equipment and automation systems.
- Support technicians in routine electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks at the Nandini building, gradually handling tasks independently.
Quality, Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and service logs.
- Prepare and update preventive maintenance schedules and equipment documentation.
- Identify recurring problems, perform root cause analysis, and recommend effective long-term solutions.
- Follow and promote industry safety protocols, food-grade compliance standards, and company policies.
Operational & Technical Support
- Coordinate with production and engineering teams to meet operational goals.
- Provide technical support during equipment upgrades and system improvements.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues to ensure smooth plant operations.
Housekeeping & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of workshop, tools, and equipment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and promptly report hazards or equipment concerns.

Skills and Qualifications
Technical Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (preferred) or Diploma.
- Minimum 1 years of relevant maintenance experience, preferably in the dairy or FMCG sector.
- Technical certifications or specialized training in maintenance/automation.
- Familiarity with PLCs, control panels, and automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
