Job Description

The Senior Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing production operations across MHHC production units. The role ensures efficient production processes, consistent product quality, optimal resource utilization, and strict adherence to health, safety, and quality standards.

The Senior Production Manager works closely with management and production teams to ensure smooth workflow, timely delivery, and continuous improvement across all handicraft manufacturing units.

Roles and Responsibilities

Production Management

  • Oversee end-to-end production operations across all MHHC units to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement production strategies, plans, and schedules aligned with demand forecasts and capacity.
  • Monitor daily production performance to ensure output targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste through data analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure consistent product quality through regular inspection of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Optimize resource utilization including manpower, materials, and equipment to improve productivity.

Risk Analysis and Safety Protocols

  • Ensure full compliance with established SOPs, quality standards, and occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Identify operational, safety, and compliance risks and implement preventive and corrective measures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through regular training, supervision, and risk awareness initiatives.
  • Monitor workplace conditions and ensure safe production environments across all units.

People Management and Leadership

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate production teams across multiple production units.
  • Set clear performance expectations and ensure accountability at all levels of the production workforce.
  • Coordinate with HR for recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and workforce planning.
  • Develop team capabilities through coaching, skills development, and continuous learning initiatives.
  • Foster a disciplined, collaborative, and performance-oriented work culture.
  • Address workforce challenges proactively to maintain productivity and morale.

Reporting and Coordination

  • Track and analyze key production performance indicators including output, efficiency, quality, downtime, and resource utilization.
  • Prepare and submit regular production performance reports to senior management.
  • Communicate operational challenges, risks, and improvement opportunities to the Deputy Director of Operations with recommended solutions.
  • Coordinate closely with procurement, logistics, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations.
  • Support management in production planning, decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives

 

Job Specification
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or food technology, Industrial Production, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing or production management experience, preferably in a similar role.

Competencies and Soft Skills 

  • Strong knowledge of production management and manufacturing operations.
  • Sound understanding of quality control standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-location production units.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
