Job Description
The Sales & Marketing Officer is responsible for promoting and selling hardware products, building relationships with contractors and customers, and increasing store sales through effective marketing and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Duties
- Assist customers in selecting hardware materials such as cement, paint, tools, plumbing items, and electrical items
- Explain product features, pricing, and usage
- Achieve daily and monthly sales targets
- Prepare quotations and invoices
- Handle bulk orders from contractors and builders
Marketing Duties
- Visit construction sites to promote products
- Build relationships with contractors, engineers, and builders
- Promote new products and special offers
- Identify new customers and business opportunities
- Support social media promotion (Facebook, WhatsApp marketing)
Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with regular customers
- Handle customer complaints professionally
- Provide after-sales support
Store & Inventory Support
- Monitor stock availability
- Coordinate with suppliers for orders
- Assist in maintaining product display and organization
Job Specification
- Strong communication and persuasion skills
- Basic knowledge of hardware and construction materials
- Customer service and relationship management ability
- Negotiation skills
- Basic computer knowledge (billing and inventory systems)
- Ability to travel locally for site visits
Qualification
- Minimum: +2 (Intermediate)
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Marketing, or related field
- Prior experience in hardware store sales preferred; freshers may apply
