Job Description

Fiber Operations Coordination

  • Coordinate daily fiber installation, maintenance, and restoration activities.
  • Assign and monitor tasks for fiber technicians and field teams.
  • Ensure work orders and service tickets are completed within defined timelines.
  • Follow up on pending installation and maintenance requests.

Fault Management

  • Monitor fiber network faults and outage reports.
  • Coordinate with technical teams for quick fault resolution.
  • Escalate critical network issues to the Fiber Manager when necessary.
  • Track fault restoration progress and maintain incident records.

Team Support & Scheduling

  • Prepare daily schedules and deployment plans for field technicians.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and task completion status.
  • Coordinate emergency response teams during major outages.
  • Assist in resource planning and manpower allocation.

Customer & Internal Coordination

  • Coordinate with customer support teams regarding service-related issues.
  • Provide updates on installation and fault resolution status.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and local authorities when required.
  • Ensure smooth communication between field teams and management.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain records of installations, maintenance, and outages.
  • Update fiber route maps, splice reports, and network documentation.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
  • Ensure accurate closure of service tickets and work orders.

Inventory & Asset Coordination

  • Monitor stock levels of fiber cables, connectors, and related materials.
  • Coordinate material requests and issuance to field teams.
  • Maintain records of tools and equipment used in operations.
  • Report shortages and procurement requirements.

Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure field activities comply with company standards and safety procedures.
  • Verify quality of installation and maintenance work.
  • Conduct periodic field inspections and audits.
  • Promote workplace safety and proper use of equipment.
Job Specification
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred

  • Certification in Fiber Optic Technology.
  • Training in GPON/EPON Networks.
  • Health and Safety Training for Field Operations.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in Fiber Network Operations, Installation, Maintenance, or Coordination.
  • Experience in an ISP or Telecommunications company.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing field technicians and contractors.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and SLA monitoring.
  • Exposure to network outage management and restoration processes.

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of Fiber Optic Network Infrastructure.
  • Understanding of GPON, EPON, FTTH, and Backbone Networks.
  • Familiarity with Fiber Splicing, Jointing, and Testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret OTDR reports.
  • Knowledge of Network Documentation and Route Mapping.
  • Understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ETR compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Ticketing and Network Monitoring Systems.
