The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, safety, and efficiency of all engineering systems within the hotel. The role ensures uninterrupted operation of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety, water treatment, and other critical infrastructure while maintaining regulatory compliance, preventive maintenance, and guest comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, DG sets, transformers, STP/WTP, lifts, fire protection systems, and hotel engineering equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure maximum equipment reliability.
- Monitor utility consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives.
- Supervise engineering technicians, contractors, and vendors, ensuring quality work and compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain engineering assets, spare parts inventory, maintenance records, and statutory compliance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Nepal Building Code, electrical, fire, environmental, and occupational health & safety regulations.
- Coordinate repairs, annual maintenance contracts (AMCs), inspections, and warranty claims.
- Lead engineering response during emergencies, including power failures, equipment breakdowns, fire incidents, and water shortages.
- Prepare and submit regular engineering, maintenance, and utility reports to management.
