Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Warehouse Manager to lead and oversee all warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, team leadership, compliance, and cost control. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, deep operational knowledge, and the ability to manage high-volume inventory in a structured and performance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee end-to-end warehouse operations including receiving, inspection, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Ensure proper material handling, storage standards, and space optimization.
- Implement SOPs for operational efficiency and process control.
- Monitor daily workflow to ensure timely order fulfillment.
2. Inventory & Stock Control
- Ensure 100% inventory accuracy through cycle counts and periodic physical stock verification.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete stock.
- Coordinate timely replenishment with procurement and management.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, shortages, or damages.
3. Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise warehouse staff including storekeepers, loaders, and support personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback.
- Train team members on safety standards, handling procedures, and system usage.
- Maintain discipline and productivity standards.
4. Systems & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records in Warehouse Management System (WMS) / ERP.
- Ensure proper documentation of GRN, delivery notes, gate passes, stock transfers, and returns.
- Prepare periodic MIS reports for management.
5. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational guidelines.
- Maintain warehouse safety standards including fire safety, material stacking norms, and equipment handling.
- Conduct regular safety inspections.
6. Cost & Performance Management
- Optimize warehouse space and manpower utilization.
- Control operational costs including damages, pilferage, and wastage.
- Set KPIs and performance benchmarks for the warehouse team.
Job Specification
- Minimum 5 + years of experience in warehouse operations.
- At least 2 to 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.
- Experience in trading, construction materials, industrial equipment, or heavy goods preferred.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control methods (FIFO, LIFO, batch control).
- Hands-on experience with ERP/WMS systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure and fast-paced operational environments.
Educational Requirements
- Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
Additional Requirements
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Experience managing large SKU inventories.
- Valid driving license (preferred).
- High integrity and accountability.
