Job Description

Photon Energy Development Company Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a qualified and experienced Tunneling Engineer to oversee and manage tunnel construction activities for hydropower and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, supervising, and monitoring tunneling operations while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, quality requirements, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate tunnel excavation, support installation, lining, and related construction activities.
  • Monitor tunneling operations to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Conduct site inspections and assess geological and geotechnical conditions affecting tunnel construction.
  • Coordinate with project managers, geologists, surveyors, contractors, and other engineering teams.
  • Review construction drawings, technical reports, and method statements related to tunneling works.
  • Ensure proper implementation of tunnel support systems, ground stabilization measures, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
  • Identify technical challenges and recommend practical engineering solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards at the project site.
  • Assist in cost control, resource planning, and project risk management activities.
Job Specification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in tunnel construction, underground works, hydropower, or infrastructure projects.
  • Sound knowledge of tunnel excavation methods, support systems, and geotechnical engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with NATM (New Austrian Tunneling Method), drill-and-blast techniques, or other tunneling methodologies.
  • Understanding of construction safety standards and quality control procedures.
