Job Description
The Overseas Education Counsellor will guide students and parents through suitable study-abroad opportunities based on their academic background, career goals, and financial considerations. The role involves counselling, university and course selection, application and visa document support, application follow-up, student record management, and converting prospective students into successful enrolments. The position will also support and mentor junior counsellors and contribute to achieving team targets.
Job Responsibilities
Counsel students and parents regarding overseas education opportunities, courses, universities, and destinations.
Assess students’ academic backgrounds, career goals, and financial considerations to recommend suitable study options.
Guide students through the complete admission and application process.
Provide accurate information on university requirements, scholarships, tuition fees, and intake deadlines.
Review and assist with preparation of academic and visa-related documents.
Maintain regular follow-up with students, universities, and relevant stakeholders.
Handle student enquiries and convert prospective students into successful enrolments.
Monitor application progress and ensure timely submission of documents.
Mentor junior counsellors and support the counselling team in achieving.
Maintain student records and update CRM/database systems.
Job Specification
Bachelor’s degree in education, management, business, or a related field.
2–4 years of relevant experience in an education consultancy or overseas education sector.
Strong knowledge of study-abroad destinations, universities, courses, and admission processes.
Excellent counselling, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong knowledge of student application and documentation procedures.
Good English communication and presentation skills.
Target-orientated, confident, and capable of handling multiple students simultaneously.
Experience mentoring junior counsellors will be an advantage.
