Job Description

The Overseas Education Counsellor will guide students and parents through suitable study-abroad opportunities based on their academic background, career goals, and financial considerations. The role involves counselling, university and course selection, application and visa document support, application follow-up, student record management, and converting prospective students into successful enrolments. The position will also support and mentor junior counsellors and contribute to achieving team targets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Counsel students and parents regarding overseas education opportunities, courses, universities, and destinations.
  • Assess students’ academic backgrounds, career goals, and financial considerations to recommend suitable study options.
  • Guide students through the complete admission and application process.
  • Provide accurate information on university requirements, scholarships, tuition fees, and intake deadlines.
  • Review and assist with preparation of academic and visa-related documents.
  • Maintain regular follow-up with students, universities, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Handle student enquiries and convert prospective students into successful enrolments.
  • Monitor application progress and ensure timely submission of documents.
  • Mentor junior counsellors and support the counselling team in achieving.
  • Maintain student records and update CRM/database systems.
Job Specification
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, management, business, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in an education consultancy or overseas education sector.
  • Strong knowledge of study-abroad destinations, universities, courses, and admission processes.
  • Excellent counselling, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of student application and documentation procedures.
  • Good English communication and presentation skills.
  • Target-orientated, confident, and capable of handling multiple students simultaneously.
  • Experience mentoring junior counsellors will be an advantage.
