Job Description


A Young Fellow must provide assistance to team members working on a project, including clerical and planning support. Multitasking, competence with basic office operations, English language proficiency, MS Office proficiency, and other interpersonal skills are the basic requirements for the position of Young Fellow.

Young Fellows may be asked to do research, prepare training materials, and assist with technical duties. Along with a myriad of other jobs as assigned by the program, administrators are part of the Young Fellowship.

They are also required to perform basic administrative duties such as email correspondence with the donor, organizational partners and managing project schedules, while also assisting in budget oversight and event planning.

Roles and Tasks

This position entails the sincere completion of the following tasks and responsibilities:

  •     Coordinating the administrative work of the YFEED Foundation;
  •     Managing the membership database;
  •     Producing organizational and project newsletters with input from the Secretariat and Board;
  •     Managing the website content and supporting the continued improvement of YFEED’s official website;
  •     Maintaining YFEED’s digital presence by linking communications with digital calls to action (e.g. building a mailing list, getting sign-on to advocacy outputs)
  •     Managing YFEED’s social media presence, including by posting weekly across various official platforms (Working with Communication team to create necessary materials)
  •     Producing materials for YFEED Foundations active projects related to advocacy;
  •     Supporting the production of youth stories around the environment and sustainable development goals on a regular basis
  •     Creating and implementing a media strategy to build our connections and draw attention towards our organization with traditional media outlets as well as new online media portals;
  •     Coordinating logistical operations, strategy development, organizing youth action, mobilisation/implementation during projects, physical events, etc.
  •     Coordinating and/or supporting fundraising efforts for/within the YFEED Foundation;
  •     Support writing grant proposals for the YFEED Foundation and associated project partners;
  •     Collect reports, evidence and data related to the project implementation, its progress and results articulating to the overall reporting system.
  •     Help in the production of annual and other periodic reports for the projects including organizational news, case studies, publication materials (To be presented to various bodies such as admin, board, partners, government agencies etc.)
  •     Help in the increment of youth engagement with the YFEED Foundation

Note: Young Fellows are not subjected to do all of these roles and responsibilities at once. However, they are mandated to undertake various assignments at once depending on the project nature and size.

Requirements and Qualifications for the Young Fellowship Program:

For the individuals interested in this Fellowship Program, We are expecting a person who meets the following qualifications:

  •     The Applicant should be a Citizen of Nepal
  •     Good knowledge and understanding of and/or experience working on environmental issues, including climate change in Nepal
  •     A University degree or at least Studying Bachelors level in the environment, social sciences, development studies or other related disciplines.
  •     Knowledge and experience in applying qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques related to various project nature
  •     Excellent analytical skills, good command over oral communication and standard writing skills (Preferably both English and Nepali).
  •     Access to good internet connection and basic computer skills including MS- Office, Slack, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides/Drive, Email, Social media & Basic design skills (e.g. Canva)
  •     Independent working statute, may require travelling
  •     Familiarity and some previous experience working with civil society organizations and social projects are desirable.
