Job Description

Country: Nepal

Duty Station: Kathmandu

Duration of initial contract: One year (with the possibility of extension)                                             

Job title: Project Coordinator

Reporting to: Programme Manager 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Programme coordination, implementation and reporting support
  • To support Programme Manager to manage and implement projects on women economic empowerment in the SABAH working districts
  • To coordinate and implement the project activities in the district in the context of activities against outcomes and expenditure against approved budget from the Programme Manager
  • To prepare and coordinate activity plan, fund requirement projections for each quarter in consultation with the Programme Manager for smooth delivery of project activities
  • To provide technical and coordinating support to organize project activities in the district
  • To ensure that activities are carried out in a timely fashion and effectively as per approved project proposals
  • To ensure timely production of narrative report and financial reports as per the reporting timeline
  • To provide support to Programme Manager to prepare relevant quarterly and annual reports to funding partners and donors

Documentation, Monitoring and Evaluation (DMnE)

  • To Support and work in coordination with Programme Manager for DMnE activities
  • To coordinate the collection of quantitative and qualitative information for the working districts to document baseline data and end-line data to measure impact in the areas of intervention
  • To support Programme Manager to develop monitoring tools and ensure proper utilization of the monitoring tools to feed into the result framework
  • Document stories of change, good practices and learning from the project and support dissemination of the same to a wider audience within and beyond the project locations
  • Ensure quality assurance of the project activities in the district in terms of logistic management, trainees selection, content, delivery of the activities and documentation
  • Ensure branding/ marking policy and quality assurance criteria of SABAH Nepal and funding partner
  • Proper documentation of all the relevant references and materials
  • Substantive input for resource mobilization and fund raising:
  • Provide substantive input to resource mobilization and fund-raising team to update the strategies and prepare program and proposals
  • Analyse and research the information on donors, prepare substantive briefs on possible areas of cooperation and partnership

Stakeholder Coordination/management

  • Ensure that all programme partners and stakeholders are kept regularly informed about the progress of the project activities
  • Maintain proper and regular coordination with key project stakeholders of SABAH Nepal like District Coordination Committee, Municipality, Rural Municipality, Office of cottage and small industries, district chapter of FNCCI, FNCSI and networks of women entrepreneurs and other organisations working with excluded women group
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive working experiences in the development sector
  • Master’s degree in Sociology, Development Studies, Political Science, Business Studies, or any other relevant field
  • Prior experience on women economic empowerment programme value chain intervention, MSMEs will be an additional asset
  • Good knowledge and understanding of gender and social inclusion issues
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Nepali
  • Strong background in producing the quality narrative report to development partners
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team to deliver high-quality outputs within deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and ability to work in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environments
