Position: Inventory Manager (Stock Controller) (Recent Job)

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock (OOS)
• Enter purchase details (vendors information, invoices and pricing) into internal databases
• Place orders to replenish goods as needed, track shipments and address any delays
• Oversee storage of products, particularly of fragile items, evaluate suppliers’ offers and negotiate profitable deals
• Coordinate regular inventory audits, liaise with warehouse staff and other internal teams to test products’ quality (status upon delivery and storage conditions)
• Keep updated inventory records (including daily shipments), ensure purchases do not exceed budget
• Develop the company’s inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs within budgetary limits, generating savings, rationalizing inventory and maximizing available working capital
• Manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations including control perpetual inventory stock counting / inventory accuracy checks
• Minimize overstocks and removal of obsolete / redundant raw materials to maximize availability of working capital
• Ensure that goods inward / stock control department is well organized and controlled to sufficiently support production and the goals of the business
• Ensure incoming product is receipted and managed appropriately according to company procedure
• Ensure materials are ready and available for production as and when required
• Ensure that any materials that are late or holding up production for whatever reason are chased and followed up until received
• Ensure sub contract processes are received back and that suppliers are chased to ensure no late delivery situation
• Provide routine management information on inventory performance like monitor and evaluate consumables usage & costs, material utilization and scrap
• Maintain accurate written procedures for all main inventory control processes and functions.
• Ensure works orders are correct and fully completed and that all stock has been allocated to the job correctly
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of the stock management system. Produce daily reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved.
• Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved
• To plan, organize, supervise and participate in daily warehouse operation and activities, including the receipt, documentation, storage, safety and distribution of equipment and supplies and maintenance of inventory management of Siddhivinayak Steels P. Ltd. and Goenka Steels P. Ltd.
• To keep details of everyday consumption of all Chemicals being used in the Steel Plants. Pre-planning of entire procurement of all Chemicals and other materials for the 3 months in advance because of challenges in Logistics arrangement/management due to Covid-19 pandemic and other unforeseen Force Majeure situations
• To plan, schedule daily works, communicate effectively both orally and in writing to sub-ordinates and with immediate Supervisor/Head of Steel Plants/Management as required

    Qualifications and Requirement::

•     Bachelor/Master Degree in Business Management/ Logistics/Supply Chain/Inventory Management
•     5+ years of working experience as Inventory Controller in Steel Plants
•     Must have Driving License
