Job Description
The Role

Technical Coordinator (Governance + Public Health)- Purnima WaSH is responsible to enable OXFAM to respond quickly to the WaSH requirements. S/he will monitor the governance and sustainability parameter of the community-based water supply system and ensure needs of the affected household for drinking water, sanitation and hygiene were meet in sustainable way.

The work will involve implementation of public health measures required to alleviate the plight of the people affected by the earthquake. The work will also include coordination with, the local government, Water User Committee and support district coordinator in inter-department coordination in Oxfam.

What we are looking for

Technical Coordinator (Governance + Public Health)- Purnima WaSH will require to be exceptional, dedicated, and highly motivated professional, with a strong commitment to Oxfam's values and beliefs with the following qualification and competencies:

  • Master’s Degree in civil engineering/ public health/ project management/ governance/ water resource management with at least with at least 3 years’ experience with practical delivery of sustainable WASH project, Water governance, WASH related capacity development or Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering/ public health/ project management/ governance/ water resource management with at least with at least 5 years’ experience with practical delivery of sustainable WASH project, Water governance, WASH related capacity development.
  • Practical experience in rural water supply, sanitation and hygiene promotion, good understanding of public health needs and water governance issue including the functionality and sustainability of the community-based water supply schemes at hill region of county.
  • Significant practical and management experiences in any of the following fields, participatory approaches and tools, field assessment tools and its analysis, monitoring, public health and/or community WASH projects.
  • Experience of coordination with local government, different WASH stakeholders with good capacity to resolve issues through coordination and advocacy.
  • Experience of working with WUCS, district or local level stakeholders, financial institutions (as relevant) Gaupalika, WSSDO, FEDWASUN.
