Job Description
Role Purpose
This role manages the implementation of the British Council’s Road to COP26’s extension activities under Arts business unit stewardship. The Project Manager ensures successful delivery of scale, reach and impact in line with the country, regional and corporate strategies.

Main Duties
- Maintain British Council’s project management framework, and ensure corporate quality standards for effective delivery.
- Responsible for the delivery and management of contracts with all partners and suppliers ensuring that it is managed to both End Client and British Council standards.
- Serve as the focal point for the project and ensure consistent communication, and coordination between internal and external project stakeholders.
- Oversee project finance planning ensuring compliance and work with Project Finance Manager to oversee external and internal reporting, budget management and forecasting including invoicing and maintaining cash flow and expenditure plan. Manage project finances through the British Council’sSAP platform
- Draft monthly progress reports and coordinate meetings with Project Board to review tasks, issues, and risks
- Report to Project Lead and key stakeholders both internally and externally on targets, monitoring and evaluation results andoutcomes.
- Maintain a risk register and escalate actions as necessary with support from Project Board
Manage procurement processes and documentation for planned expenses. Manage vendors for duration of project cycle. - Manage grant projects awarded by the project, by creating direct lines of communication with grantees and institute checks and controls to ensure timely and effective outputs
- Support recruitment of third-pay consultants (both national and international) as required by project activities
- Work with other SBUs to improve programmeperformance throughcollaboration
- With support from the marketing and communications team ensure effective marketing and promotion of project outputs and impact internally and externally
