Job Description

R1. Planning and Implementing Life Skills Based Education

  • Support to identify the needs of the life skills based education and assist provincial coordinator to prepare plan UDAAN class and other educational intervention.
  • Identify resource materials and modules and develop implementation plan on financial literacy for adolescent girls
  • Support program team to ensure access and ARH service utilization by the hard to reach and marginalized adolescent girls from the disadvantaged groups

R2. Training and Development of Skills

  • Identify and support to select local resource persons for providing ALC (Alternative Learning Centre) training
  • Update on program progress against plan with local implementing partners at district levels about life skills based education.
  • Work with local government and schools (public and private) to identify the issues of school dropout students and support them for re-enrollment in schools with the support of youth networks/ groups, parents and other civil societies
  • Works with the youth allies/ networks/ groups at communities to organize the campaign for school enrolment and re-enrollment of dropped out students to continue their education.
  • Collect proven life skill training packages developed by concerned agencies and support to implement and provide quality assurance on the same.

R3. Collaborate with Stakeholders and Monitoring

  • Collaborate with Course providers, Community Support Workers and External Partners
  • Assist in providing logistic support to relevant stakeholders, community and reproductive health facilities in case of necessities as mandated by the program
  • Create an enabling environment for adolescent boys and girls to raise campaign against social injustice and discrimination related to education and adolescent reproductive health.
  • Maintain close working relations with all program partners.
  • Support partners to build the capacity of staff to implement the project activities
  • Guide partners to develop and implement annual and periodic work plan, track progress of both program and finance.
  • Work in close coordination with relevant stakeholders and partners where applicable to give synergistic effect to the program
  • Develop mechanism and linkages with cooperatives to make them accessible to the poor vulnerable and socially excluded communities
  • Support partners to implement alternative pathways and financial literacy packages for adolescent girls who are unable to attend school
  • Ensure quality implementation of UDAAN and other educational intervention at community
  • Visit the program sites and provide onsite coaching and guidance based on their performance

R5. Secondary Responsibilities and Tasks
Primary responsibilities of other positions/ team members within the grants and sub grant monitoring unit will be secondary responsibility for this position. Supervisor/Department head will assign these secondary responsibilities as per the need and priority within the department. Any other duties/responsibilities as per the need/priority of mission in consultation with supervisor.

Working conditions:
Work is based in Janakpur project office. Frequent visit to the project municipalities is necessary.

Job Specification

Bachelor’s degree in education with 3 years of experience in non-formal education, life skill base education program especially at Madesh region of Nepal.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Report writing skill along with basic formatting skill required to prepare report.
  • Communication skills including strong verbal and written language skills in both English and Nepali.
  • Interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Strong coordination, networking and advocacy skills.
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of relevant software e.g. Microsoft office and others
  • Knowledge about local language; Bhojpuri, Maithili
