Job Description

Heifer Project International Nepal (HPIN) is a non-profit organization working in Nepal since 1998 with the aim of ending hunger and poverty and caring for the earth through agriculture-based livelihood and market system development programs. HPIN invites application from eligible Nepali citizens for the following position.

Term: 5 months, with possibility of extension

Station: Gulmi, Dhading, and Sindhuli districts

Major Roles and Responsibility:

The full-time field-based consultants will be responsible for an effective delivery of animal health and production technologies, knowledge and skills to Heifer team, project partners, cooperatives, and beneficiaries. S/he will ensure that farmers understand and adopt improved technologies to maximize farm animal productivity for consistence and supply of quality animals. S/he will work in close collaboration and coordination with the Heifer Nepal Program team, local government, project partners, cooperatives, and Community Agro-Vet Entrepreneurs (CAVE). 

Educational Qualifications and Experience:

A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Veterinary Science. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements. Field level work experience in livestock value chain will be preferred.
