Job Description

Heifer International Nepal (HPIN) is a branch office of Heifer International, a global non-profit dedicated to helping farming communities around the world lift themselves to self-reliance. HPIN invites application from eligible Nepali citizens for the following position:

  • Program Officer- Animal Well Being: 2 (Nepalgunj based: 1, Pokhara based: 1)

Major Responsibility:

  • The Program Officer- Animal Well Being will be responsible for an effective delivery of animal health and production technologies, knowledge and skills to project partners and cooperatives.
  • S/he will provide support to livestock enterprises and ensure provision of business development services through cooperatives to bring efficiency in the value chain to increase profitability.
  • S/he will also ensure that farmers adopt improved technologies for consistence and bulk supply of quality animals and work in close collaboration with Heifer Nepal Program team, project partners, cooperatives and community agro vet entrepreneurs.
Job Specification
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university in veterinary science with minimum three (3) years of relevant experience. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.
