Job Description

CARE Nepal is an international humanitarian organization working in the country for the past 40 years. It currently works in 60 districts through various programs on issues relating to improving the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable populations through programs that work on the following themes: food security and climate change; emergency preparedness and DRR; migration and urbanization; sexual reproductive and maternal health; gender based violence; women and girls’ leadership. Marginalized Women and Adolescent Girls are our two primary impact groups. Core priorities include investment in the empowerment and leadership of women and girls, reaching hard to reach population, good governance and accountability, working in partnership and alliance with like-minded actors, and evidence-based advocacy.

Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Coordinator – Hariyo Ban Program (based in Kathmandu)

Key responsibilities:

  • The Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Coordinator will provide overall strategic and technical guidance from GESI perspectives in and across the program activities ensuring GESI mainstreaming into programs and policies.
  • S/he will lead and promote gender equity and equality in program components of Hariyo Ban Program, and ensure leadership opportunities, meaningful participation and equitable benefit sharing for women and socially excluded groups in community groups through support in analysis and impact measurement of the program.
Job Specification
  • Master’s degree in social science or women studies or other relevant subject
  • Minimum 7 years experience in applying gender analysis and in-depth knowledge of gender and social inclusion issues from biodiversity, sustainable landscape and climate adaptation perspectives.
