Job Description
  • The Chief of Party will be responsible for the overall management and representation of the activity.
  • S/he will manage a team of senior staff, sub-recipients, and engagement with stakeholders to ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency of all products and activities generated under the cooperative agreement.
  • This role will serve as the principal institutional liaison to the donor and local government entities.
  • S/he also provides strategic leadership and supervision of sub-grantees and sub-contractors while ensuring the security, feasibility, and sustainability of the program and contribution to Child wellbeing outcomes. Mandatory travels to implementation sites and regional, global meetings as required.
Job Specification
  • Master's degree in development studies, international relations, agriculture, nutrition, public health, business administration, or related field combined with a minimum of seven years of progressively increasing management responsibility in international relief/recovery/DRR projects is required.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with international assistance program requirements, preferably USAID Office of Food for Peace (FFP) policies, rules and regulations.
  • Proven ability in the management of large integrated projects in developing countries. Familiarity with USAID programs, their history and their development; mastery of USAID regulations governing such programs. Familiarity with the Upper Nile Nepal context is a plus. Demonstrated accomplishment in working with host-country professionals, ministries and with donor colleagues in country.
  • Experience as a Chief of Party/DCoP/Program Director or senior advisor roles is required. Should have demonstrated experience in recruiting, developing, and managing staff, as well as experience managing programmatic and financial reporting.

Core competencies : 

  • Must have previous experience of managing USAID grants successfully;At least 5 years of experience designing, implementing and managing large and complex projects involving multiple partners, in/for developing countries
  • Excellent oral and written English & Nepali; Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office; Ready to take initiatives and willing to work under pressure and exhibit a high level of flexibility
  • Hold a high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently; Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking with decision making and problem solving skills; Good understanding of humanitarian Sector;
