OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST

Under the authority of the Assistant Director-General for Education (ADG/ED) and also the direct management of the top of the UNESCO workplace in Kathmandu|national capital and UNESCO Representative to Nepal, the incumbent can offer technical and policy recommendation to the Ministry of Education and relevant partners so as to support the identification, design, implementation, reporting, monitoring, analysis and coordination of activities and comes applied beneath the UNESCO Education Programme. The incumbent are going to be expected to coordinate a team of personnel in their several field of education and produce a robust background and capability in policy development and designing. He/she will be accountable for guaranteeing UNESCO's contribution within the field of Education. The National skilled Officer are going to be expected to perform the subsequent responsibilities: 

Assist the top of the workplace in distinguishing, designing, implementing and coverage on Programme activities within the field of Education in Kingdom of Nepal among the Education 2030 Agenda and its Framework for Action, additionally because the Education Sector's international and regional methods and priorities, so as to contribute to putting together the national and native institutional capacities and priorities towards comprehensive and evenhanded quality education and long learning opportunities for all.

i. Provide technical and policy recommendation to the Ministry of Education and relevant partners. 
ii. Lead the participation of UNESCO in international organization Joint Programming exercises within the field of Education among the Common Country Assessments/United Nations Development help Framework (UNDAF).
iii. Articulate and propose methods for UNESCO’s intervention and help within the field of rising and innovative academic themes, e.g. education for property development (ESD), ICTs for education, international citizenship education and guarantee gender mainstreaming in education. 
iv. Develop unitedly with different Programme Officers knowledge domain project proposals geared toward consolidating and complementing the activities in Education funded by the Regular Programme budget.
v. Formulate resource mobilization partnerships and techniques with key donors and stakeholders. Play a vigorous role within the preparation of fundraising proposals and strategy documents.
vi. Prepare and submit quarterly/yearly work plans of activities and comes per approved project documents.
vii. Identify and coordinate policy analysis activities in Education in Kingdom of Nepal (new rising and international trends), and contribute to the event of pertinent strategy papers, technical notes, frameworks and documents, articles associated with the implementation of the Education 2030 Agenda and its Framework for Action in Nepal.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education 

Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in education, social sciences or in another connected field. A first-level university degree together with 2 further years of qualifying expertise could also be accepted in position of the advanced university degree. 
Work expertise

Minimum of four years of skilled expertise within the areas of education, as well as the look, implementation and observation of education programmes at the national level.
Proven expertise in programme management, advocacy, resources and partnership mobilization.
Skills/Competencies

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to demonstrate discretion and maturity of judgment within the execution of duties.
Strong data of the education system and relevant education problems with Kingdom of Nepal.
Demonstrated ability to operationalize programme ideas.
Good written and speech skills.
Ability to ascertain and maintain effective operating relationships during a doctrine atmosphere with external and internal partners.
Ability to require initiative, establish priorities, coordinate and monitor own work arrange. Results orientated approach to finishing appointed tasks.
