Job Description
Position Overview:
The Finance Officer will be responsible for handling day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting records, assisting in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with statutory requirements. The role requires attention to detail, strong knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate books of accounts, including general ledger, AR/AP, and journal entries.
- Ensure timely bank reconciliations and cash book updates.
- Record and verify daily financial transactions.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, yearly).
- Assist in preparing management reports and supporting schedules for audits.
- Support variance analysis against budget.
Taxation & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with VAT, TDS, income tax, and other statutory obligations.
- Prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time.
- Maintain necessary documentation for audits and compliance checks.
Cash & Treasury Management
- Assist in cash flow monitoring and forecasting.
- Manage petty cash transactions and ensure accountability.
- Coordinate with banks for deposits, payments, and reconciliations.
- Handling Letter of Credit and Customs
Audit Support
- Support internal and external audits with accurate data and documentation.
- Implement audit recommendations and strengthen internal controls.
Coordination & Support
- Work closely with operations, procurement, and HR for financial matters.
- Assist senior finance staff in budgeting and cost analysis.
- Provide financial data for decision-making when required.
Job Specification
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s preferred but not mandatory).
Professional training/knowledge of accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP) is required.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting and finance roles.
Practical knowledge of taxation (VAT, TDS, income tax).
Experience with financial reporting and compliance.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial standards.
Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas, basic financial analysis).
Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
Good communication skills (both verbal and written).
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Other Requirements:
Nepali citizen with valid work eligibility.
Two-wheeler license preferred (for banking/field visits).
Willingness to work extended hours during audits, year-end closing, or deadlines.
