The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting for Swostik Construction, supporting accurate project costing, cash flow, and compliance. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who can handle construction accounting, reconcile transactions, and prepare tax-ready records to support management decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Record and verify day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring correct accounting treatment for construction activities and project costs
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) including invoice processing, payment scheduling support, and vendor statement reconciliation
Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) including customer invoice recording, follow-up support, and reconciliation of outstanding balances
Perform intercompany and vendor reconciliations to resolve mismatches and ensure completeness and accuracy of books
Maintain tax accounting records and support computation/filing preparation in line with applicable Nepal tax requirements
Support monthly/quarterly closing by preparing reconciliations, journals, and management reports required for audit and internal review
Assist with construction accounting needs such as tracking expenses by project, cost allocation, and supporting documentation for claims and reporting
Job Specification
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Studies, or a related field
2+ years of hands-on accounting experience, most preferable working before in a construction company and in a project-based environment
Accounting — practical experience in full-cycle bookkeeping, journal entries, ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end closing support
Accounts Payable & Receivable — strong control of invoice-to-ledger posting, aging monitoring, reconciliation, and resolution of billing discrepancies
Tax accounting — working knowledge of tax accounting records, computation support, and preparation-ready documentation for review/filing
Intercompany & Vendor Reconciliation — experience reconciling intercompany balances and vendor statements, investigating differences, and maintaining evidence for audit
Construction Accounting — ability to support project-based cost tracking, cost classification/allocation, and construction-specific supporting records
MS Excel — advanced use of spreadsheets for reconciliations, aging schedules, and working papers (formulas, pivot tables, and data validation)
Nice to Have
Exposure to accounting in construction ERP/accounting software (e.g., Tally, Xero, or similar) and experience producing audit-ready reports
Experience supporting internal audits and providing documentation for compliance reviews
Familiarity with VAT and TDS processes in Nepal and maintaining clean tax registers
