Job Description
  • To promote wine sales and assist guests in their wine selection in all outlets.
  • Follow and apply the FIFO method (First In First Out) to ensure no wastage.
  • Check wine menus in all bars and restaurants and keep them up to date concerning pricing and consistency.
  • Maintain par levels in all outlets.
  • To greet guests in a professional manner and to provide them with prompt, courteous and friendly service in all outlets.
  • To assist the Sommelier in preparing for Special Wine Pairing Dinners.
  • To set up the Wine Room and to reset it again after dinner is over according to instructions from the Sommelier.
  • To ensure that wine stations are set up properly.
  • To check and maintain all wine equipment and tools used for daily operation.
  • To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in all outlets.
  • To do additional duties in other departments as instructed by superior.
  • To ensure that all equipment is properly and securely stored away when not in operation and to keep assigned area clean and tidy at all times.
  • To keep lockers organized, clean and tidy at all times and in accordance to safety rules and regulations.
  • To report work orders (Maintenance Orders) to their Supervisors when deficiencies are noted or when maintenance is required and to follow up on the work orders in a timely manner.
  • To complete the work registration form (Time Sheet) correctly on shift by shift basis and to submit it to the Sommelier in a timely manner each month.
  • To adhere to all company policies and procedures, manuals and directives.
  • Verify the time of next shift and report to duty on time.
  • Expected to exceed all relevant onboard revenue targets.
  • To be cost conscious with the use of cleaning materials, linen and other consumables.
  • To promote wine sales in all outlets.
  • To keep crockery and glassware breakages to a minimum.
  • To keep an accurate record of assigned wine stock and to be held accountable for any discrepancies that may occur.
  • To ensure all guest checks / bills are processed in accordance to company policy.
  • To ensure the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in work areas at all times.
Job Specification
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English & Hindu. Knowledge of any additional language is a plus.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good product and beverage knowledge.
  • Must have very good organizational skills and show attention to detail.
  • Must have initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Must be service minded with an outgoing, charming and friendly personality.
